Left Trigger Right Trigger

Join us every other week as we convene the 'video game book club.' Each episode is structured around a topic: anything from 'Trust' to 'Robots' to 'Body Parts'. Listen in as your hosts each bring a game to the table that they think exemplifies that topic in some way. Give us a shot and remember, games are just metaphors.

This is it, gumshoe! Today's topic is "Investigations" and wouldn't ya know, your hosts get all up in your business about things you wish they didn't. Greg finds that hidden blog where you once wrote Pikachu fan fiction. Giovanni gets intimate with your secret diary about the Pope. Dave quietly pockets that disturbingly erotic poem about your former professor. Colin just wants to know who fucks the fuckmen. It's a regular "Good Cop, Bad Cop, Sex Cop, and another Sex Cop" up in here.

Once you wrap up this case, head over to  Apple Podcasts and leave us a review. If you're dying for more mystery, you can always follow our enigmatic social media profiles on Facebook and Twitter. Finally, be sure to swing by the seedy club that is our YouTube for some hot tips on the next perp you're trying to track down.

Games discussed include Batman: Arkham Asylum, Zeno Clash, Gone Home, and L.A. Noire

For best listening, please begin this podcast at 4:09:40 local time.

This is it - what remains of all human life. After the events in Antarctica brought about catastrophic climate change, we pinned all our hopes on the work being done at the GeoFront. Mankind survives because it has the will to do so - this is also the nature of Power, the topic of this episode. During this talk, Greg refuses to get back in his mech. Colin embraces the forbidden union of Adam and Lilith. Giovanni reverts to primordial soup. Dave awakes on a beach only to comment, "how disgusting." All this, and your hosts still manage to talk about Gex for like 20 minutes.

If you're too afraid, you can always leave. But why not stop by Apple Podcasts and give us a review before you do. If you'd like to attack our egos directly just like Arael, you can do so on our Facebook and Twitter. Finally, if you'd like to explore the reality in which we are all one, you can check out our videos on YouTube.

Games discussed include The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Super Mario Bros. 3, Monster Hunter: World, and Metroid II: Return of Samus

UPDATE: Thank you everyone for watching and supporting our 24-Hour Anniversary Stream. You raised over $1,100 dollars for Child's Play! You're amazing! Thank you so much, and make sure to check our YouTube for stream highlights coming soon. With that, on to the show!

Hey y'all, welcome to the first episode of Guy Fieri's American Video Game Dumpster. I'm your host, Guy Fieri, and I'm here to tell all you little shits that I better not see you on Xbox Live or my good friend Travis and I will serve you your own ass (with a side of Donkey Sauce). In this episode, I'm rudely interrupted by some real assholes who want to talk about the one-year anniversary of their garbage show that I've barely even been on. These losers talk about "being friends," "growing as people," and other absolute trash that no one wants to hear. Really, the only thing that interested me was that one game at the end that gave me some really good ideas for new recipes.

Anyway, my boy T says to remind you to head over to Apple Podcasts and rate this show. Also, you cretins can find my new recipes on Facebook and Twitter. And I guess you can see on-demand videos of my new series on YouTube.

Quick and important announcement: LTRT is turning one year old! In celebration of getting away with this aural crime for a full year, we will be doing a 24-hour livestream to raise money for Child's Play on February 24th! We'll be live at https://www.twitch.tv/lefttriggerrighttrigger from 10 a.m. 2/24 to 10 a.m. 2/25 (that's Eastern time, btw.) Give a few dollars and spend part of your weekend with us as we become increasingly delirious and strange. It's for the kids!

With that, we hope you enjoy our very romantic Valentine's Day episode about that lusty topic, "Education." Dave tells us about his special pajamas. Giovanni hangs out with a green pervert. Greg plays out a "convenient snowstorm" experience. Colin... talks about gerrymandering.

Tune in next episode to find out what happens to Travis!

Head's up y'all: Colin's audio is very bad in this one. He apologizes for being harder on your ears than usual. That aside, this episode gets into the murky topic of Sequels in games. Your hosts tackle the big questions: what does it mean to have a sequel in the age of "games as service?" What is the cultural significance of "spiritual" sequels? Why are there so many horny hedgehogs on DeviantArt? Listen in as these questions are only barely answered in this episode. But that's ok; we'll get it in the next one.

If you have a moment, we'd really appreciate your reviews on Apple Podcasts. You should also make sure to send us the results of image searching your name + the hedgehog on Facebook and Twitter. And be sure to stop by our YouTube channel to see all the shenanigans we get up to over there.

Games discussed include Power Stone 2, Resident Evil 4, Mega Man 3, and Return to Krondor

2018: The Year of Miitomo Waluigi! Your hosts kick off this discussion of "Simplicity" by pitching a Waluigi conspiracy theory that spins into a fully developed cinematic universe. Stick around to hear the show get back on the rails and get a pretty solid discussion on simplicity in games. Dave admits to earning every achievement in Everybody's Gone to the Rapture. Giovanni explores the subtle mystery of Pitfall. Greg gives everyone some Minesweeper speedrunning strats. Colin forgets to breathe for like three minutes.

Shoutout to our listener Wap for suggesting this topic!

The new year is upon us! Friend of the show Calvin Kasulke stops by to help your hosts work out their new year's resolutions. Listen in as we embrace 2018 with renewed energy, resolve to cut down on "onion" jokes, and create a copyrighted, legally distinct superhero who is fueled by anger. Also, there's some talk about "Transformation" or whatever.
