Left Trigger Right Trigger

Join us every other week as we convene the 'video game book club.' Each episode is structured around a topic: anything from 'Trust' to 'Robots' to 'Body Parts'. Listen in as your hosts each bring a game to the table that they think exemplifies that topic in some way. Give us a shot and remember, games are just metaphors.

Double-O August rolls on - thank you everyone for your football drawings!

When the guardian is away, the podcast hosts will play. Colin is away on this episode, so Greg, Dave, and G take this opportunity to talk about Destiny for 20 minutes before diving into some truly introspective discussion. Dave reveals the inner mechanical workings of this podcast. G continues his tirade against Gooigi. Greg continues to court sponsors, such as "the bad ginger ale."

You have three days to continue sending us your football drawings on our Twitter (@LTRTCast) and on the LTRT Facebook Page! You can also check out our archived videos on our YouTube Channel, find us occasionally on Twitch, and continue to send us your love (and football drawings (BUT ONLY FOR THREE DAYS)) on Apple Podcasts.

Games discussed include The Witcher 3, A Short Hike, and Hyper Light Drifter

Rejooice and despair, gentle listeners, for Doouble-O August has returned! Take a breath and let loose as we return, oonce again, to the woorst bit we've ever created.

If it wasn't clear, every episode released this month will only have topics with two Os in them. Why? We honestly can't remember.

Join us, won't you, as our group therapy session takes us on a journey through our childhoods. Giovanni reveals his past activities as a youthful hooligan. Dave admits to playing games when he should've been studying, because all the cool kids were doing it. Colin quizzes their fellow hosts on the forgotten and misunderstood 'kids versions' of games. Greg explains how he learned to bend light (in order to shoot virtual birds).

WE ARE 100% SERIOUS ABOUT YOUR FOOTBALL DRAWINGS. PLEASE SEND THEM TO US ON TWITTER (@LTRTCAST) OR AT THE LTRT FACEBOOK PAGEYou can also check out our archived videos on our YouTube Channel, find us occasionally on Twitch, and leave us your football thoughts/reviews on Apple Podcasts.

Games discussed include EarthBound, GunBound, Tempo Jr., and Duck Hunt

The 64th episode of LTRT means we take a deep dive into everyone's favorite numerically-named console: the Nintendo 64 (take that Microsoft). We're joined by special guest Jeremy Kaplowitz: Editor-in-Chief of Hard Drive, Host of the Super Mario Bros. Super Show! Show, and Campaign Manager for the Ace Watkins Presidential Campaign.

Tune in for a meandering discussion on all things Nintendo 64. Dave laments the lost mascot platformers of days past. Greg insists on playing slappers only. Giovanni sells us all on that one Star Fox game no one remembers liking. Colin makes some weird point about neoliberalism. Jeremy weighs in on the impact of Super Smash Bros. on games in general.

As always you can follow all of Left Trigger Right Trigger and friends on Facebook, Twitter (@LTRTCast), and Instagram. We also occasionally put up videos on YouTube and Twitch. And remember - if you give us a like and review on Apple Podcasts, we'll be forever grateful.

Games discussed include Star Fox 64, GoldenEye 007, Banjo-Kazooie, Mario Kart 64, and Super Smash Bros.

Dave posits a new theory of hat-based psychological development. Colin admits to minor, hat-related fashion crimes. Giovanni's gonna to make it after all [throws hat in air].

This episode tries to sneak around... but it's dummy thicc and the clap of its special guest keeps alerting the guards! Tom Zalatnai from Up For Discussion (@DownWithTalking) joins the usual crew for an extra long, extra honest episode discussing "Stealth" in videogames. Tom plays a bit of a stealth ARG in real life. Giovanni asks an important question about why stealth mechanics feel so forced. Dave gets into the mental games inherent in stealth multiplayer. Colin talks about using moss to choke people. Greg has two... thrones...

Gamer Christmas is upon us once again. That is, if Christmas was the holiday where you only saw your gifts and couldn't touch them for at least a couple years. You know, that type of Christmas.

This year, we actually watched the press conferences before recording the episode! Not that it matters since most of what we do is thirst over Gooigi. Greg does an intentional, attention grabbing gaffe. Giovanni demonstrates some straight up classic gamer fashion. Dave shows genuine emotion. Colin has some vague rambling about innovation.

You can send us all your E3 opinions over on our Twitter and Facebook. Subscribe to our YouTube and Twitch channels before they become Epic Store exclusives. And don't forget to leave us a review on Apple Podcasts, as long as that website is still around.

Games discussed include Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Shenmue 3, Phantasy Star Online 2, and Fallout 76

Father's Day: like the movement of the tides and the appearance of a leap year, you never know when it's going to arrive! Welcome to our third excursion into video game dad-hood, complete with everything your dad loves: conspiracy theories, walls, whippersnappers, sick poses, monthly magazines, amusement parks, and horse children. Greg adopts all the other hosts. Giovanni describes how a square dad sacrifices his family in order to save the world. Colin follows a family line of dads to their logical origin. Dave asks Bowser "Do you know where your children are?" and Bowser shrugs.

It's tee time, listeners! Sharpen your clubs, fasten your pantaloons, and steel yourself for this excursion into the green sea. "Golf" is the topic at hand, suggested by listener Aaron (@ajc77 on Twitter) who suggested it to us at PodCon! Get ready to 'walk the shank' in this episode: Giovanni reviews proper grass zamboni maintenance. Greg invents a language based on vegetables. Dave gets swarthy. Colin talks about how capitalism is bad.

Tell us about your most successful green sea raids over on Twitter and Facebook, or post your golf pirate manifesto at our YouTube Channel. You can also watch us explore advanced golf tactics on Twitch. Finally, if you like what you hear, leave a review and your favorite classic golf shanty over on Apple Podcasts.

Games discussed include Grand Theft Auto 5, Golf Story, Everybody's Golf, and Tropico 5

Sacrifice - whether you're saving the world or summoning a deity, Sacrifice is a huge part of games and popular media in general. This topic was whittled down from a suggestion by @Johnny.Boy.Jones, who talked to us at PodCon (RIP). Originally entitled "Destined to die in order to save the world," the idea of "Sacrifice" is explored in many different ways. Colin picks a game that matches this topic exactly, earning 50 bonus points. Dave pushes back on Giovanni's bad, bad opinions. Greg helps Dave edit the podcast in real time. Giovanni tries to avoid saying "Interesting" and fails immediately.

Tell us your most painful game sacrifices on Twitter and Facebook, or publish a video essay response about it on our YouTube Channel. You can see us sacrifice our time an energy over on Twitch. Finally, if you like what you hear, leave a review and a few drops of blood over at Apple Podcasts.

Games discussed include Sacrifice, Bloodborne, Batman: Arkham City, and Nier: Automata
