Left Trigger Right Trigger

Join us every other week as we convene the 'video game book club.' Each episode is structured around a topic: anything from 'Trust' to 'Robots' to 'Body Parts'. Listen in as your hosts each bring a game to the table that they think exemplifies that topic in some way. Give us a shot and remember, games are just metaphors.

This episode of Left Trigger Right Trigger was made possible by our sponsors - Mountain Dew and Hale & Hearty Soups.

Advertisements: they surround us, embrace us, become the content of our very minds. Advertising makes the world go round - shout out to our tertiary sponsor Rand McNally. "Rand McNally: Wherever you are, that's a place."

Where there is profit to be made, advertising is sure to follow. Tune in as your hosts discuss the ups and downs of sponsored content (brought to you by Little Tikes Brand Seesaws: "Little Tikes - Every Child Gets the Same Cozy Coupe"). Greg discusses some ads that don't hold up over time. Giovanni discovers the dark side of free-to-play games. Dave explores the auditory affects of advertising in games. Colin has some thoughts about the un-cola.

Our sponsors have instructed us to inform you that you can follow LTRT on Facebook and Twitter. You can also view ads and occasional videos on our YouTube Channel. And, for a short time, leave a review on our Apple Podcasts page with the phrase "Do the DEWmocracy" for a chance to win a second vote in November's election.

Games discussed include Tomb of the Mask, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Gears of War, and Cool Spot

We're not the great communicators that we used to be, apparently. However, that won't stop us from discussing "Communication" in this episode of LTRT. Giovanni hints at potentially joining a cult. Colin talks about how much they love screaming. Dave tries to stop this whole situation from blowing up. Greg courts a new sponsor for this podcast.

The long awaited Sports episode has finally happened! If there's one thing these four hosts know about, it's sports. They love talking about sports. They love reading about sports. They love dreaming about sports. Everything you've ever wanted to know about sports gets discussed in this episode. Colin talks about sports in which you hit balls with your fists. Giovanni talks about sports that are violent, but entertaining. Dave talks about stereotypes in sports. Greg talks about a sport involving nets. It's all sports.

THE WHOLE OONIVERSE WAS IN A HOOT DENSE STATE! Double-O August wraps up with legitimately like 20 minutes of discussion on the Big Bang Theory. We aren't sure what happened but it's tangentially related to the the topic of "Outdoors." Giovanni confesses to a crime he committed against his own grandfather. Colin proposes so jolly cooperation in the woods. Greg can't stop talking about his area. Dave learns the truth about his long lost brother.

That magical time of year is upon us again: Double-O August returns, bringing with it a whole bunch of topics to delight and confuse. This is the month in which your hosts refuse to talk about anything that doesn't contain a double-o, so we hope you like it? "Cartoons" leads off this holy month, so make sure to tune in and listen to Greg get frustrated with babies. Giovanni defends his strange addiction. Dave teaches everyone how to audio-bend. Colin describes his obsidian hippo.

In celebration of No Man's Sky's final launch out of its Beta phase and into the full fledged game it was meant to be, your hosts at LTRT have put together this show on the subject of "Beta." While thee inventory management simulator NMS has finally turned into the game it was meant to be, that isn't the case for other games caught in a perpetual Beta state. Giovanni explores how Betas just ruin games forever. Greg asks important questions about the role Betas play in esports. Colin makes reference to Le Internationale, but doesn't follow through. Dave settles an argument that somehow involves Mothra.

We'd like to thank all our listeners who have tuned in for the early access version of this podcast. As we work to create the audio discussion show that we know it can be, we always welcome your feedback. You can leave a bug report on our Facebook or Twitter. Subscribers to our extreme early access can also watch exclusive video content on our YouTube Channel. Toniiiiiight. We are Pets. So let's fill the bowl with kibble, or we can all nibble, on some boooones. "Pets" is the topic in this episode, which is appropriate since they needed to spray Colin with a water bottle in this one. Tune in as Greg recounts the trauma of the worst crime ever perpetuated against him. Giovanni frets over virtual birds. Colin explores his unprocessed feelings towards Tubs the cat. And Dave just tries to pet some digital dogs.

Note: Colin, in his "Vacation Dave" state, conflated Digimon Tamagotchi with all Tamagotchi. He regrets this mistake. Please no emails.

Please post pictures of your pets to our Facebook and Twitter. You can also find more critter related content on our YouTube channel. Lastly, in exchange for giving us a like and review on Apple Podcasts, one of our hosts will be your pet for the day! I guess that's why Colin has all those collars.

Vacation Dave takes everyone on a pleasure cruise through this relaxed, Island Time centered episode. Grab your drink and feel that banana wind as we explore Vacations both literal and metaphorical. Dave takes us to a bougie, but comfortable tourist resort. Colin smashes that shit apart in his personalized va-kaiju-ation. Giovanni takes us on a delightful gay-cation. Greg brings us home with more of a stay-cation experience.

Dads... What are they? Who are they? How did they come to be? These questions and more tickle your ears as your hosts plumb the depths of Dadhood, Fatherhood, and Daddyhood. Join us for the Second Annual Left Trigger Right Trigger Father's Day Dadstravaganza: Dadliest Catch. Your intrepid hosts discuss all things Dad-related: How to get that perfect Dadbod. Where to find your Dad when he disappears on you. How to know if the person you're speaking to is secretly a Dad. Tune in as we celebrate Father's Day the only way we know how: by making a podcast.

Well it's the Big Show (oh) it's the Big Bad Show tonight. Er, not tonight specifically, but maybe just on this episode?

E3 2018 looms over us like so many giant, muscular wrestlers, ready to slap us in the chest in a hard, loud, and frankly embarrassing fashion. Your hosts are here to give you a hardy Abdominal Stretch as they discuss the rumors (and promises) for this year's E3. Greg gives a Big Boot to an adorable pikmin-like project. Dave comes in with a Sidewalk Slam related to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Giovanni Chokeslams some indie game. Colin sends you to dreamland with a knockout punch. Whatever, it's E3 - we'll be watching all week for the latest information.

Make sure to walk all over our chests on Facebook and Twitter. (That's really a thing he does? Just walks on people?) You can always smash that like button (with your Colossal Clutch) on our YouTube channel. And finally, don't forget to leave a review on Apple Podcasts, where we never ever make weird wrestling jokes ever.
